Moisture Accumulation and Movements in Roof Insulation

Source

The physical properties of specific insulations, such as air and water vapor permeabilities, absorptivity, and thermal diffusivity, influence the amount of water collected, where it will be concentrated, the effect on heat transmittance, damage related to water collection, and where water will be discharged from a roof assembly. Observations and laboratory tests will illustrate effects and show how the selection of test conditions influences conclusions reached.
