Suggested Method of Test for Permeability and Settlement of Disturbed Soils

This method of test is intended for the determination of the permeability and settlement of disturbed soils. A basic method for soils passing the No. 4 (4760-micron) sieve is decribed in detail first. This is followed by a brief description of a large-scale test for soils passing the 3-in. sieve, which is similar in principle and operation to the basic test.
