This method of test is intended for determining the relative cohesiveness of granular soils when the liquid limit or plastic limit cannot be determined by the Method of Test for Liquid Limit of Soils (ASTM Designation: D 423) or the Method of Test for Plastic Limit and Plasticity Index of Soils (ASTM Designation: D 424).
