Suggested Recommended Practice for Conduct of Soil and Foundations Engineering Investigations

The purpose of this recommended practice is to outline major principles for planning, organizing, and conducting exploration, sampling, and testing and engineering work in connection with sub-surface soil investigations for engineering purposes. This recommended practice deals primarily with physical sampling and testing of the subsoil; however, geophysical, electrical, sonic or other such interpretive methods of exploration are briefly mentioned, as pertinent.
