Deflection Limitations as a Factor in Structural Timber Design
SourceDeflection criteria have been a recognized factor in timber design for over one hundred years, and early established “rules of thumb” to control deflection have been handed down from generation to generation. Until recent years there has been very little interest either to confirm or to disprove the century-old criteria which are still in general use and to bring deflection criteria up to date with modorn building practices and uses of wood.
