Corrosion Standards and Control in the Petroleum Industry
SourcePetroleum refineries use water, steam, hydrogen, acids, and a variety of other corrosive materials to convert crude oil into many different products, including gasolines, lubricating oils, fuel oils, and chemical plant feed-stocks. Hence, refineries have not only most of the corrosion problems encountered in the utilities and chemical industries, but a few specific problems as well.
