National Mandatory Fire Safety Standards

Source

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has broad regulatory authority over thousands of consumer products. Mandatory safety standards for matchbooks, aluminum wire systems, and television receivers are being developed or planned under the Consumer Product Safety Act, and two other standards will have significant fire safety aspects. Regulation under the Flammable Fabrics Act has resulted in mandatory standards for children's sleepwear, clothing, carpets and rugs, and mattresses.
