Cement-Base Paint and the Painting of Masonry
SourceMany studies have been conducted to investigate the nature and behavior of Portland cement, a material widely used in our society today. However, almost all relate to the engineering aspects of the material as it is used in the construction or building industry. Very little has been written about its chemistry or physics when it is used as a pigment or extender in a vehicle system such as linseed oil or a styrene-butadiene polymer solution. The properties necessary for the manufacture of a good powder “portland cement paint” for masonry surfaces are difficult to find enumerated.
