This chapter gives references and procedures for the identification and analysis of commercially important coating resins. Complete treatment is not attempted. Readily available procedures, such as ASTM methods, are referenced and discussed. Procedures for the analysis of blends and mixtures that may be encountered in finished coating materials are included so far as possible. Where muhiple methods are available for the same purpose, as in some qualitative applications, an effort is made to select the most reliable.
