New Gaging System for Modified ISO Metric Screw Threads

A new concept has been developed for gaging Modified ISO metric screw threads. It is based on a functional approach to size control. This referee gaging system is new, innovative, and more discriminating than current referee gaging practices in identifying products not conforming to functional requirements of mechanical fasteners. Modified ISO metric screw threads were originally identified as OMFS (Optimum Metric Fastener System) screw threads.
