A Ball-Rod Rolling Contact Fatigue Tester

This paper describes the development of an accelerated rolling contact fatigue tester that minimizes the testing variables through the use of simple, expendable components. The important design features of the tester and the specimen and rolling element finishing technique are described. Test results comparing two similar testers are presented for both steel and ceramic.
