Enumeration of Specific Populations by the Most-Probable-Number (MPN) Method
SourceThe most-probable-number (MPN) method of bacteria enumeration dates back to the earliest days of bacteriology. Despite drawbacks of the method, it offers a relatively simple and useful means of estimating microbial populations, especially for determining the physiological potential of microbial biomass.
