Speech Interference and Community Annoyance
SourceA prescriptive rather than descriptive approach to modeling community reaction to noise exposure is suggested, based on the strong relationship usually observed in social surveys between extensity of speech interference and prevalence of annoyance. Parallels between the suggested approach and another prescriptive theory of human behavior are drawn, and the advantages of such a systematic approach are discussed.
