Quantification of Noise from Stationary Sources
SourceIn the measurement and quantification of noise emitted from a stationary source, one has a choice of a multitude of descriptors and methodologies. Owing to the existance of one or several “sub-sources” of either the stationary or mobile type within the physical confines of many of the total stationary sources, one is obliged to consider each source as somewhat unique and modify his measurement methodology accordingly. This paper will deal with some of the problems encountered in obtaining an accurate set of descriptors in each case and in using these descriptors to predict annoyance due to a similar facility in a different location or due to changes made at an existing facility.
