This paper describes briefly foui types of sulfate attack on hy- drated cement. It summarizes the history of the activities of ASTM Committee C-l on Cement in investigation of tests for sulfate resistance of hydraulic ce- ments, and it looks forward to the production of a satisfactory test for the sulfate resistance of blended cements.
