Determination of the Thermal Conductivity of Refractory Insulating Materials by the Hot-Wire Method

The hot-wire line source technique has been applied to the measurement of the thermal conductivity of refractory insulating materials at temperatures up to 1000°C. The method is rapid and has a repeatability of better than 5 percent. Comparisons have been made with other methods.
