Correlation of ASTM Method D 2887-73 Boiling Range Distribution Data with ASTM Method D 86-67 Distillation Data
SourceThis paper describes two proposed methods of predicting ASTM Test for Distillation of Petroleum Products (D 86-67) and ASTM Test for Distillation of Petroleum Products at Reduced Pressure (D 1160-61) data from ASTM Test for Boiling Range Distribution of Petroleum Fractions by Gas Chromatography (D 2887-73) data. One approach uses a multiple linear regression analysis to predict correlation equations. The second approach uses a series of correlation equations relating the slopes of selected segments of the two boiling range distribution curves. The theory, application, and advantages of each procedure will be presented along with supporting data.
