Calculation of ASTM Method D 86-67 Distillation and Reid Vapor Pressure of a Gasoline from the Gas-Liquid Chromatographic True Boiling Point
SourceMathematical models have been developed that permit the Reid vapor pressure and the ASTM distillation to be calculated from a low-resolution, gas chromatographic analysis of a gasoline. The accuracy of these calculations is equivalent to that of the standard laboratory test procedures.
Results show that this approach for calculating conventional inspection properties is feasible in practice. This approach also opens the way for the prediction of less familiar properties that may have greater relevance to product performance and may be more suitable for the characterization of gasolines than are the customary inspection data.
