Chapter 9—Computerized Medical Technology: Meeting the Challenge and Issue of Standards
SourceNo computer can deterministically produce valid results from invalid data. Any attempt to use computers to enhance decisions in medicine is thus limited by “problems of consensus and authority of the underlying information”. The problems of uncertainty and error exist in the data bases of all medical specialties.
