Rationale for Testing Vertebrate Pesticides and Devices in Actual Field Situations
SourceSeveral problems have been observed and documented over the past 25 years regarding the extrapolation of laboratory and limited field test data directly to vertebrate pest control under actual field situations. Under the new legal and technical complications necessitated by interpretations of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act and by environmental and consumer interests, the occurrence of these problems is no longer acceptable to the user. Reasons for these past failures or limitations are discussed candidly. Corrective and preventive procedures are outlined.
