Effectiveness of Prefabricated Drains on Laboratory Consolidation of Remolded Soils
SourceThe Soil Mechanics Bureau of the New York State Department of Transportation has carried out an extensive testing program over the past two years to determine the relative effectiveness of several types of prefabricated “wick” drains in the laboratory and field environments. The test program and results, along with discussions, and the relationship of the test results to theoretical field performance are presented in this paper.
