Report on the Glass Workshop

The workshop concluded that the prospect for recovery of glass cullet from the solid waste stream is technically and economically feasible. The paper describes the major markets for waste cullet including glass containers, glass wool, flat glass, and the building materials industry. A discussion of standards and specifications for limiting contamination and color-sorting glass in the future is included.
