Prediction of the Influence of Titanium Dioxide on Polymer Weathering
SourceTitanium dioxide strongly influences the weatherability of polymers in which it is incorporated. Because of the long time spans involved in artificial and outdoor weathering tests, it is highly desirable to estimate the effect of a particular titanium dioxide pigment before the initiation of weathering. A variety of pigment activity tests have been reported. This paper describes a test method that involves the photooxidation of isopropyl alcohol.
