A qualitative overview of the effects of the various elements involved in the weathering of organic coatings is presented. Such elements include wind, water, temperature, pollution, and substrate variables. Several methods of evaluating the effects of weathering, such as mechanical properties, microscopy, and thermal analysis are pointed out.
