Draft for Development 78 (DD78), “Higher Purity Copper Cathode”, published by the British Standards Institution requires the support of agreed methods of sampling and analysis capable of showing whether the impurities specified are below the limits set. This paper summarizes the state of development of methods for sampling and analysis of high-purity copper cathode arrived at in the U.K. with international support. The aims of work in progress are discussed.
