Corrosion, Wear, and Erosion—An Ancient Art and a Modern Science
SourceA thorough historical review of corrosion, erosion, and wear is given along with a study of the state of the art with a view to how the interdisciplining approach is attempting to unify opinions on the mechanism of damage. This is followed by some thoughts on areas for future research and development. The paper concludes by speculating on how the knowledge gained can impact on our material resources, the environment, and the quality of life.
