Source

A simulated burrow system for laboratory testing of vertebrate pest control fumigants was constructed of readily available plastic pipe and other inexpensive materials. The device is versatile in that it can be easily modified to different configurations. In addition, the device permits controlled comparative evaluation of fumigant agents, test animals can be directly observed during exposure, access to them is immediate, and fumigant dispersal and concentrations can be monitored quickly and accurately.
