Throughout the lifetime of a reactor vessel, the impact and tensile properties of the ferritic beltline region materials change because of neutron irradiation. These changes require periodic adjustments of the reactor vessel pressure-temperature relationships for heatup and cooldown during normal operating, upset, and testing conditions.
