Effect of Fiber Systems on Stiffness Properties of Chopped Fiber Reinforced Sheet Molding Compound Composites
SourceThe effect of such fiber characteristics as weight content, modulus, and density on the stiffness properties of a chopped fiber reinforced sheet molding compound (SMC) composite are analytically evaluated. Comparisons are made among SMC composites reinforced by four commercially available fiber systems, glass, Kevlar, carbon, and high-modulus carbon.
