State-of-the-art standards currently used to evaluate the comparative wear performance of plastics with abrasion-resistant coatings—such as tests that quantify rubbing and impact abrasion—are surveyed along with other recent developments in test methods. In addition, tests that determine the wear resistance of abrasion-resistant coated plastics after exposure to environmental effects are explored. Wear testing is also covered as it relates to different applications for abrasion-resistant coated plastics.
