Corrosion Testing of Furnace and Vacuum Brazed Aluminum Radiators
SourceTo investigate the internal corrosion behaviors of aluminum radiators processed by vacuum brazing and furnace brazing with flux, respectively, a glassware test was conducted on a specimen and a coolant circulation test on actual radiator units.
It was proved that the furnace-brazed radiator was superior to the vacuum-brazed radiator, as far as the corrosive resistance was concerned, since the former incorporated the zinc diffusion layer in its surface which afforded the sacrificial corrosion.
