Evolution of the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program Procedures

The Department of Commerce published its original procedures for the operation of the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) on 25 Feb. 1976. Three revisions have been made since then and another is currently under consideration. This paper briefly reviews the development of the NVLAP procedures since they were proposed in May 1975.
