Testing: Thermal Expansion of Reinforced and Nonreinforced Urethane Materials

This paper reports factors that influence the determination of the coefficient of thermal expansion of reinforced and nonreinforced urethane materials.

The factors investigated were repeated test cycling of the specimen, additional post-curing, and preconditioning the specimens at various relative humidity levels. In addition, the results of an interlaboratory round robin program are presented to show the expected precision of the test method when the above factors are controlled.
