SourceThe “art boom” and record attendance at museums have been a major cause for the increase of thefts occurring in museums. Strong measures are needed to counteract the trend. With greater awareness on the part of museum administrations and improved security standards, there is now hope that the cultural heritage in museums will be preserved.
