SourceIn order to establish an appropriate management system for the control of quality throughout the design phase, there must be an understanding of the criteria for design quality. With acceptance of the concept of total quality' comes the recognition that the specific performance requirements of any item contribute largely to the item's level of quality, in the broadest sense. These performance parameters constitute the item's design quality criteria.
