This paper describes synthetic rubber compression seals. A brief summary of ASTM Specification for Cellular Elastomeric Preformed Gasket and Sealing Materials (C 509-70) is given. The basic design concept for use of compression seals for weatherproofing glass and panels in buildings is also reported.
