This paper discusses various aspects of rubberized asphalt (R/A) waterproofing membranes. Properties, test methods, basic formulating, and specifications are outlined, together with a discussion on field application, equipment, and methods. Details of techniques and designs required to produce a satisfactory system are given as are the advantages and disadvantages of R/A systems and other systems currently available.
