Refinery Oily Waste Treatment and Disposal Techniques and Their Potential Application to Oil Spill Debris
SourceIndustry experience with handling of refinery oily wastes has shown that, following all feasible recovery of the oil, landfarming offers the most environmentally acceptable and most economic optimum for treatment and disposal. The use of both landfarming and composting for oil spill disposal appears to be site specific, but both techniques should be considered in evaluating disposal alternatives.
