A Method for Assessing Deposits of Aerially Applied Aqueous Pest Control Agents

Source

In field evaluations of a promising bird repellent (mesurol) on target crops, we needed a method to measure the chemical deposits resulting from aerial spray applications. Oil-sensitive “spray” cards were unsuitable because water, not oil, was the carrier.

For spray cards, we used thin-layer chromatographic plates and determined particle size and density of the spray droplets and the resulting deposits of the chemical.
