This paper deals with the application of thin-gauged marble and natural stone on the exteriors of buildings. The paper presents several methods of doing this, such as site applied over concrete and masonry surfaces and over lightweight steel studs using a wire-reinforced, latex modified mortar system.

The paper also presents the latest technology in exterior cladding utilizing lightweight steel panels, constructed off site where marble or natural stone may be applied to portland cement boards with a latex polymer modified mortar adhesive system. Detailed drawings of the applications are included as well as photographs of projects in various stages of construction.
