Application of Computerized Quantitative Infrared Spectroscopy to the Determination of the Principal Lipids Found in Blood Serum
SourceThis paper discusses the issues related to the development of a practical infrared spectroscopic method for the determination of the principal types of serum lipids, triglycerides, cholesteryl esters, and phospholipids. Earlier papers on this subject are noted, and the various matrix mathematical approaches used previously for this application are compared. The results described in this work were obtained with a least squares curve fitting type of algorithm, termed a Q-matrix approach. Comparisons are made between results obtained with a number of different methods constructed for use with the Q-matrix approach.
