Materials and Substance Data Banks in COMECON Countries and in the USSR
SourceThe paper reviews the work on materials and substance standard reference data (SRD) since 1972 when it was decided by the COMECON Commission to establish a Working Group with that purpose. The most active participants of the SRD system are Bulgaria, Hungary, GDR, Poland, USSR, and Czechoslovakia. In 1984, ministers of five countries signed an agreement for the development of the COMECON SRD system. The structure and the major results of the activities of the SRD are presented. Major results presented are in the areas of the data bank certification procedures and standardized reporting of data. An extensive report on materials data banks in the Soviet Union is also given.
