Non-chemically modified cornstarch effectively encapsulates herbicides. Thousand pound quantities of atrazine, alachlor and metolachlor were prepared by extrusion followed by drying, grinding, and sieving to give the desired size granules. Leaching potential of these formulations was evalulated using soil columns and bioassay techniques. Large quantities of products were sent to cooperators in 10 states for evaluation along with commercial formulations.
