This study explores the expedited construction of the Quebrada 4 Bridge on the Casas Quemadas Highway in Lancones, Piura, Peru. Completed in March 2023, this bridge is pivotal for connecting local towns to the Ecuadorian border and enhancing agricultural, livestock, and tourism sectors. Utilizing a novel battery bridge design and arch structures featuring SP MP152 multiplate galvanized corrugated sheets, this project introduced innovative engineering approaches that substantially reduced costs and construction times relative to traditional reinforced concrete bridges. Notable achievements include a reduction in material costs, a decrease in installation time, and streamlined design processes. Furthermore, the bridge's enhanced hydraulic capacity is crucial in mitigating the effects of recurring El Niño events, ensuring its operational integrity amid fluctuating weather conditions and growing commercial demands. The rapid construction timeline, culminating in broad local community support, encompassed foundational work completed in just four days, with subsequent phases of slab assembly, backfill, and head construction executed over 14 days. Integrating Building Information Modeling (BIM) and photogrammetry was crucial in aligning digital planning with physical topography, averting potential compatibility issues. Even under adverse conditions, such as those presented by Cyclone Yaku, the structure demonstrated remarkable resilience, maintaining essential connectivity. This research underscores the potential of advanced design and construction methodologies to accelerate infrastructure development, bolster socioeconomic growth, and enhance environmental resilience.
