Development of Embrittlement Trend Equations for WWER-440 RPV Materials

This paper describes a short history of the development of formulas for the prediction of transition temperature shift ΔTk for material 15Kh2MFA(A) type (base metal and weld metal) used for the manufacturing of reactor pressure vessels for WWER-440-type reactors. Based on updated databases of test data from surveillance specimen programs of WWER-440/V-213C models manufactured by SKODA JS, new embrittlement trend equations for Charpy impact transition temperature shifts ΔTk as well as fracture toughness reference temperature shifts ΔT0 were determined and included into normative documentation.
