Microemulsion Water Conditioners Based on Triethanolamine Sulfate

Source

Triethanolamine sulfate, a new water conditioner designed for use with glyphosate and dicamba tank mixtures, has many desirable attributes. Among them is the relative ease with which it can be formulated into multifunctional tank mix adjuvants. This paper explores in detail creation of a microemulsion of methyl soyate using triethanolamine sulfate solution as the continuous phase. Field testing of the microemulsion as an adjuvant for glyphosate demonstrated its effectiveness in reducing hard water antagonism and boosting glyphosate activity. Careful study of the spray droplet size spectrum of glyphosate and dicamba tank mixtures shows that the microemulsion has no negative impact on driftable fines.
