Dibenzoate Plasticizer Technology for Sealants

Dibenzoate plasticizers are widely utilized in latex caulks because they are compatible with the polymers used in that application. Dibenzoates are also known to be used in the polymer side of two-part insulating glass polysulfide sealants. A new and promising application for dibenzoate plasticizers is in silyl-terminated polyethers and polyurethanes. This paper will provide an overview of information demonstrating the use of dibenzoate plasticizers in caulks and sealants with performance examples.
