Evaluation of Different Readily Biodegradable Base Fluids in a Multi-Purpose Grease-Development Project
SourceReadily biodegradable greases made from synthetic base oils have superior qualities to many biodegradable base fluids originating from natural sources. However, the pricing and sustainability of lubricants made from bio-based fluids make them an attractive option for applications that will not experience temperature extremes where many bio-based fluids do not perform well. This paper will compare the properties of biodegradable multi-purpose lithium complex greases made from non-renewable-based synthetic fluids with two greases made from renewable-based oils.
