With the world becoming more sensitive about the need to protect the environment, more emphasis is being put on preventing chemical spills and protecting the ground from becoming contaminated if a spill should occur.

This paper will discuss the use of polysulfide based sealants and coatings to seal fuel storage tanks and chemical/fuel containment areas to prevent spills from seeping into the ground potentially contaminating the ground water. It will describe the number of applications where these sealants and coatings have been used successfully, and will give case histories of their successes.
