Firestopping Through-Penetrations
SourceFirestopping through-penetrations is a complex engineering task, and formulating the materials used in the process requires application of both art and sophisticated chemical technology. Penetrants may pass through holes of several different sizes in a variety of substrates in many environmental conditions, and in a fire they may remain a rigid solid, may melt, or may be consumed. A variety of sealants and materials have been developed to meet the demand for these life-saving through-penetration firestop techniques.
